Day 20 - September 9, 2014

Today's Reading: 1 Peter 1:22-25 (NIV)

22 Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for each other, love one another deeply, from the heart.  23 For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God. 24 For, “All people are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, 25but the word of the Lord endures forever.” And this is the word that was preached to you.

Dan's Thoughts:
You're made of something that will never fail.  Your spirit has been transformed from a dead spirit to one that is brought to life through faith in the love of a God who is perfect.  His love is perfect.  People are like grass (verse 24), meaning they die and are fragile.  But God's promise of unconditional love never runs out on us.  "Your love never fails, it never gives up, never runs out on me."  Love other people with that same love.

Questions For Reflection:
1.  Which verse stuck out to me the most?  Why?
2.  What is God telling me through this passage?
3.  What transformation in my heart needs to take place because of what this passage means?
